WHAT a surprise package arrived in the form of Benjamin Wetherill's latest single release The Derby Ram.

Greeted by a Coward-esque warble, this traditional English folk ditty encompasses a blend of darkened, spidery arch-folk and pre-war swoon material with a modern twist.

Wind instruments, harmonies, electric guitars and percussion galore combine for an eccentric sound that both delights and intrigues in equal measure.

Can't say this will find its way onto my iPod, but it certainly brought a smile to my face!
