The debut single from half-French, half-English folk singer Fran Rodgers is a largely impressive affair which showcases her striking vocal talents to good effect. While the three songs on display here are simple in structure – with just an acoustic guitar and Fran’s haunting voice for company on many occasions – they somehow manage to convey a much bigger, grander sound with the songs having a timeless quality to them.

Tales of love, loss and hope run throughout the three songs on this single, with “I Fell To You Under Winter Sun” opening the single strongly before the ethereal “To Long No More” ensures the standard remains high. Finally, “She Dwelt Among Th’Untrodden Ways” brings a little variety to the mix with the addition of an organ to complete a trio of songs which each capture a delicate, fragile and haunting sound and highlight the impressive vocal talents of Fran Rodgers perfectly.
