Despite being positively raw and out of synch, That Fucking Tanks's single, The Awesome Magnet marks a turn away from their slightly more boisterous reputation. Not to worry though, there is still plenty here to cause the room to shake - and I'm listening to it relatively quietly. There is, however, some solace for your eardrums coming in the form of a nicely crafted breakdown, which inevitably leads to a welcomed re-explosion of noise. The Awesome Magnet is both intricate and volatile, allowing it to be more than just the mosh inducing wall of noise it could so easily have been.
