die shellsuit die

Six months. That is all it has taken Mother Vulpine to release a single which belies a far more experienced band. Maybe they should just sack this music business off and bottle whatever it is they use for courage and confidence, although it would be removing an extremely talented angry melodic rock ‘n’ roll band from us.

This double A-side release maybe a little rough around the Justin Lockey produced edges (Of Yourcodenameis:Milo so no real surprise there), it encapsulates perfectly the raw and taunt energy behind Mother Vulpine’s pounding riffs. Despite the heavy nature of the songs, they are counterbalanced with enough indie moments to keep the Bloc Party fans happy.

Having supported the Eagles of Death Metal recently, this Leeds based quartet (Who are big in both the adopted home town and Isle of Mann… really something’s need more explaining than a token sentence in a press release!) look set for bigger and better things. That or the volatile rock ‘n’ roll will make you dance before putting you in your place with some punishing waves of sound. You get the feeling Vulpine are quite happy with either.
