Mother Vulpine have been doing rather well. Not content with supporting Eagles Of Death Metal, they’ve just recorded a couple of tracks with Justin from Yourcodenameis:milo. Now share the fruits of their labour.

From the insistent siren guitar hook, minor-key bass and heart-pounding-and-fluttering drums of ‘Keep Your Wits…’ intro, you know something is going to happen. Matt speed-whispers, “So if you still,” then busts the song wide open with raw, discordant, panicked vocals. It’s all the band can do to keep up, but this isn’t just punk or rock. It ebbs and flows, like a trance track, tantalising with pure clapability and rewarding with a Dionysiac climax and demise.

‘For A Friend…’ is more of a four to the floor rock-out a la Therapy, eschewing traditional structure, but without dropping the beat or skimping on the guitars. Both are heavy, dancey and very, very infectious. Go on. Join the pack.
